The internet can be a wonderful addition to a person’s life, but technology for seniors can be overwhelming. Family Tech Services aims to set seniors up for tech-success. Throughout the entire process and beyond, our Mission is to assist, answer questions, and troubleshoot – with patience and kindness.
OUR HISTORY
Thomas Balderstone, a graduate of Drexel University, has been working in Information Technology for the past 30 years. Tom founded Family Tech Services when he saw how his own father was struggling with the isolation of the COVID pandemic. Tom set out to help his dad by making sure that he was seamlessly connected to the internet, that he had all the devices he needed (and that they were set-up properly with “ease of use” in mind), and that his father understood how to use these tools. The result: his father’s life expanded and blossomed once he was connected to the outside world. As Tom says, “Because I saw a need in my own family, I realized that other families must be struggling as well. I started offering my services to parents of friends. I saw how difficult technology navigation can be for older people, but I also saw how access and familiarity with the internet improved their quality of life. The mission of FTS truly is to ‘turn technology confusion into empowering solutions’.”
